Wuhu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone
Wuhu, one of the 27 cities in the prefecture-level city of Anhui Province and the central area of the Yangtze River Delta, and it is the central city of the G60 Science and Technology Corridor.
Approved by the Anhui provincial government, Wuhu Hi-tech Zone was established in 1991. By getting the approval from the National Development and Reform Commission, it formally been upgraded to be the National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in 2010. Thereafter, Wuhu Hi-tech Zone is one of the two national Hi-tech Zones in Anhui province. 6 ongoing 1-billion projects are established in 2019 alone. In 2019, the zone's manufacture value hit 41.4 billion yuan, which is 10.6% higher than 2018. In the emerging industry, the manufacture value reached 27.6 billion yuan with an estimate of 5 billion yuan investment funds.
Four pillar industries were shaped during the years’ development, namely as new-energy automobile industry, energy conservation and environmental protection industry, micro electronic industry and modern agricultural machinery. Also Wuhu Hi-Tech Zone has a complete supply chain for robot industry. Chery Auto, one of the largest home grown carmakers in China, is headquartered in the city.
